Fisher's Garage, a brief history of a family legacy.
Begun in 1963 by Hilary Alton Fisher II, our families business traces its origins to "pops" desire to work from home. Following his return from military service with the U.S. Army during and after the Korean War, he purchased the property where the shop now resides, and built a home and family.
After a short employment with a local auto parts retailer he began repairing cars himself in the front yard. Slowly his little one man shop on a dirt road grew from a carport under an oak tree to a two bay shop he built himself. In the early 1970's with the addition of his Son H.A. Fisher III "Alton", and our Cousin Larry Fisher the shop continued to grow and thrive. Over the decades as Greenville has grown, the shop has continued to grow right along with it.
Drawing on the principals instilled by his Father, my Uncle Alton assumed the reins in 1992. By this time a six bay operation, and employing various other family members, Alton continued the traditions of honesty and hard work. In 1996 the first of Hillary's Grandchildren joined the business, and in 2004 his Grandson J.P. Cooper assumed control becoming the third generation of our family to operate the shop. Now with 10 bays, a full tire and alignment shop, towing service, and 14 employee's, we are continuing to uphold our Grandfather's legacy of honesty, quality, and fair prices. We have come a long way in the last 50 years, and God willing we will be at your service for many years to come.
